Neck lanyards come with a variety of methods for holding on to things. One of the most common is a split-ring attachment that is useful for holding keys, like a key ring.  It is an inexpensive way to hold a lot of keys, but like a key ring can sometimes be difficult to get things on and off.

The ubiquitous bull-dog clip is another clip that many people go with when buying lanyards. It clips onto name badges or other cards and holds them securely. The bull-dog clip is a square clip about 3/8 of an inch across.  Some name badge holders have a slot at the top of them for the bull-dog clip to clip around.

The swivel-snap hook has the advantage of an attachment that is easy to quickly remove items from the hook. It won’t hold as many as the split-ring, but they will go on and off a lot easier. Swivel-snap hooks are found in different sizes, but if they are too large can be rather heavy to have around your neck.

Cell phone straps are another form of attachment to a neck lanyard. They are basically a mini-lanyard on a detachable mount that fits onto your cell phone and then attaches to the neck lanyard.  The detachable part is a strong plastic or nylon fastener that holds the cell phone strap securely, yet gives you the convenience of removing the cell phone to put it on a charger or elsewhere.

Another handy attachment is the badge reel that affixes to the neck lanyard.  They are often used to hold access badges that need to be swiped at every other entrance and provide a good method for keeping the badge in a place that is easy to reach.  Most badge reels are light-weight in construction, fit easily on lanyards, and won’t hold heavy objects.

These are just a few of the variations for holding things to a lanyard. Whatever your needs are there is surely a convenient way to meet them.
