Name tag holders are typically used with name tag lanyards to hold a cardboard name badge for trade shows or conventions. These name tags can be printed by most companies on their own printers and can significantly reduce the cost of providing identification for participants.

Like most other things there are varying levels of quality and cost for different name tag holders. The cheapest name tags are the ones that can be purchased in bulk and simply run through your own printer. The name tag lanyards that accompany these cheaper name tags are often an elastic string that attaches to each end of the name tag holder and then goes around the neck. It will do the job, but doesn’t look that great and won’t last that long. .

A more elegant and better looking solution is to purchase a wide strap lanyard as the name tag lanyard and then have them custom imprinted with the name of the event or the sponsors logo and company information. The cost is more, probably two to three times more, but the difference in look and the better impression it makes is well worth the extra cost. .

Custom imprinted lanyards look better because they are a better quality product and can be customized to exact specifications. Any color and any design can be applied to the lanyard, as long as there is enough room on the strap for all of the information to fit. An average width for most fabric name tag lanyards is going to be 5/8 inches wide and can go up to as much as ¾ of an inch in width. These lanyards are also more comfortable to wear for long periods because the wider strap rests better around the neck. .

Make the choice that fits the budget best; they both work, but one looks so much better.
