Neck lanyards hold many different things around your neck. Some hold keys, some hold name badges, some hold glasses, and some hold cell phones.  Fortunately lanyards come in a wide variety of colors and styles and even have many different ways of attaching things to themselves.

The bull-dog clip is normally used with a name badge and clips into the small slit at the top of the badge to hold it firm.

Other attachments are the spring hook which is "J" shaped and is typically used to hold keys around your neck. They come in various sizes depending on how many keys you want to keep on one lanyard and if you want a neck ache from the weight of the keys.  Often a badge reel is attached to the lanyard around your neck and again they come in different sizes and strengths depending on what you want them to hold.  Keys work good with stronger reels and allow you to open doors without having to find keys in your pocket all of the time.  Smaller badge reels work well with ID cards that need to be swiped repeatedly and again provide a convenient means of accessing your card without having to dig it out of a holder or pocket.

Other attachments are a split ring, similar to a key ring and used for the same purpose. Even nicer are the snap together holders that can be detached so whatever they hold can be easily used and then put back onto the lanyard for the next time.

Safety is a consideration with a lanyard around your neck and fortunately breakaway lanyards are commonplace and provide a means of safety in case of accidentally catching the neck lanyard on something. The lanyard will come apart before you are injured and can be put back together and used again after it is freed from whatever it stuck on.

Around your neck is a convenient place to keep anything you need to access multiple times during a work day.  With the right attachment they last a long time and provide the accessibility you need.
